A complex infrastructure project requiring accurate as-built modelling, federated multi-discipline coordination and a structured information environment, delivered as a managed digital workflow rather than just a stack of models.

Overview

XCN led BIM coordination and digital project delivery activities for a complex infrastructure project where accurate as-built modelling and multidisciplinary integration were critical to delivery confidence.

The work covered the full digital coordination workflow, from point-cloud-derived 3D modelling through federated review, clash management, CDE governance and information assurance, supporting both the design team and downstream construction stakeholders.

Scope of Services

Five interconnected workstreams covering the full BIM and digital delivery lifecycle:

01
BIM Management.
BIM execution planning, governance and information delivery oversight aligned to ISO 19650 principles.
02
Digital Coordination.
Structured discipline coordination across architectural, structural and MEP models, with managed review cycles.
03
Common Data Environment (CDE) Administration.
CDE setup, workflow configuration and information governance across the project team.
04
Clash Detection & Resolution.
Federated clash management, prioritisation and resolution tracking through coordinated review workshops.
05
Model Federation.
Federation strategy, model health monitoring and assurance across multi-discipline inputs.

A managed digital workflow.

Not just a stack of models.

Key Involvement

01
Developed coordinated 3D Revit models using point-cloud survey information, converting captured reality into structured, model-ready geometry for downstream coordination.
02
Managed federated BIM coordination workflows across multiple disciplines, with defined review cadence, clash priorities and resolution accountability.
03
Supported structured digital collaboration and information management workflows, providing the project team with a managed CDE and clear information delivery cadence.
04
Supported structured digital collaboration and information management workflows, providing the project team with a managed CDE and clear information delivery cadence.

Outcome

What changed

A federated, point-cloud-anchored BIM environment with structured clash resolution and a governed CDE, reducing design interface conflicts, improving design visibility across disciplines and giving downstream construction stakeholders a reliable digital information baseline.
